Update on the AMED Regional Training Centres Programme | Co-Chair's Statement | Welcome Remarks by then Singapore Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed | Press Statement | Update on the AMED Regional Training Centres AMED Training Centres Singapore is contributing to human resource development through two regional training centres established under the Asia-Middle East Dialogue or AMED. The AMED Regional Training Centre for Public Administration (RTCPA), located in Qatar focuses on the training of civil servants and developing skills and strategies for excellence in public service, while the AMED Regional Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) in Jordan will focus on developing skills in air-conditioning and heating systems maintenance and diagnostics for the construction industry. AMED RTCPA in Qatar The Institute of Administrative Development of Qatar (IAD) in Doha hosts the AMED Regional Training Centre for Public Administration (RTCPA). To date, Singapore and Qatar have conducted three courses at the RTCPA, namely “Balanced Scorecard for the Public Sector” from 14-18 May 2006; “Capacity Building for Negotiating FTAs” from 21-24 May 2007; and “Learning Organisations” from 11-14 June 2007. Singapore and Qatar will be running another course in 2007, namely “Land Use Planning: The Singapore Experience” from 19-22 November 2007.
AMED RVTC in Jordan The AMED Regional Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) will be located at the Marka Technical Training Institute (TTI), which is just outside Amman. The AMED RVTC is progressing well and will be ready by the end of September 2007. The inaugural course will be on “Building Services Technology for Middle Eastern Countries: Workshop in Air-Conditioning Systems Maintenance and Diagnostics” from 20 October to 8 November 2007. . . . . .
